Please make sure that your student has brought a messy shirt to Art Class to protect their clothing.
We are currently working on Caribbean Festival Masks.
We viewed masks that were from various parts of the Caribbean including Haiti, Venezuela and the Bahamas.
After we discussed the similarities and differences in the masks students created sketches of 2 different animals that they would want to combine to create a festival mask.

Curriculum:
The Art Curriculum currently follows Illinois State Standards. It is being revised to also include National Standards as well as Common Core Standards.
Curriculum Goals are achieved through hands on learning experiences. Students are given opportunities to create Artwork using a variety of Art Materials such as Paint, Drawing Supplies, Plaster and Collage.
